The 17th Annual "A Celebration of the Arts"
Saturday, March 24, 2018

6:30 p.m. - Light Appetizers & Dessert, Art Exhibit featuring Norwalk City
Schools Best in Class Art Students (K-12), Drama Department performing the
2018 musical highlights and Orchestra Students String Quartet performance.

8:00 p.m. - Showtime, with The Speakeasy Jazz Cats, Dixieland-Style Jazz!

Your ticket purchase directly builds the fund! The board of trustees has had
the privilege to award a total of 360 student scholarships (over $499,000)
to Norwalk High School graduating seniors and a total of 29 faculty grants
(over $30,000) to Norwalk City School faculty members since the fund's
inception in 2000.

The celebration's entertainment: The Speakeasy Jazz Cats with Dusty Tovsen
and his musicians bring Dixieland-style jazz straight from the streets of
the French Quarter in New Orleans. The Speakeasy Jazz Cats travel all over
the world for their fans' listening pleasure.

This will be a fun and entertaining evening for everyone and supports a GREAT cause benefiting the students of Norwalk City Schools.

Did you know? Some facts from 2016 Celebration

…last year the fund provided scholarships to 36 Norwalk High School Seniors in the total amount of $54,750?

…the annual Celebration of the Arts is the only fundraiser held for the Endowment Fund?

…the Art Show that evening was student art work from grades Kindergarten through High School? The art teachers selected the best of the best for this show.

…this year we also had student visual artists working in the gallery?

…and a string quartet played in the balcony?

…and the drama department performed highlights from the "Oklahoma" in the Fisher-Titus Learning Center (LGI)?

…and participating student artists were recognized on stage before the concert?

…the event is no longer a semi-formal affair? It has become much more casual.
