The Norwalk High School Band, Industrial Education, and the Art Department are excited to announce the
2016 Art Show and Spring Band Concert
at Norwalk High School on Monday, May 2nd.
The Norwalk High School Art Show will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the NHS Art Gallery and Ernsthausen Performing Arts Center lobby.
The Spring Art Show will feature Senior Independent Study projects by Caitlen Cameron and Leah Duplaga. Classes included in the show are Design, Drawing, Advanced Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Ceramics, Fibers and Glass, Printmaking, and Digital Art. All works will be judged and awards given, including Best of Show, 2D and 3D, Peoples’ Choice, and Senior Awards.
The Norwalk High School Industrial Education Department will display the work of many students including coat racks made by the Advanced Woodworking class and mirrors with wooden frames created by Industrial Education II students.
The Norwalk High School Band will be presenting its Spring Concert on Monday, May 2nd at 7:30 p.m. in the Ernsthausen Performing Arts Center at Norwalk High School.
This concert will feature both the Norwalk High School Concert Band under the direction of Mrs. Sandy Bennett, and the Norwalk High School Wind Ensemble under the direction of Mr. Will Kish.
The concert will feature music from a wide variety of composers and styles. Works will include the music of Robert Sheldon, Frank Erickson, Robert W. Smith, John Philip Sousa, Igor Stravinsky, Tomaso Albinoni, and John Williams. The Wind Ensemble performance will include guest harpist Sirka Westgate Schreck and guest pianist Kristina E. Mason.
Admission to these events is free, and there is no charge for parking. Tickets are not required for the band concert or the art show.
