Student Reads 55 Books before Nov. 1

When Mrs. Beabout, a fourth-grade teacher at League Elementary, challenged her Reading students to read 40 books in fourth grade, she was optimistic that some would achieve that lofty goal.  What wasn’t expected was that Evelyn Welschenbach would take this challenge to heart.  Evelyn has already read 55 books and plans to set a school record in AR points.

Evelyn states, “I started reading when I was in kindergarten and have loved it since then.  I read in my free time and that’s what I usually do for fun.”  While her classmates express admiration for Evelyn’s accomplishments, Evelyn does relate that “ some people say it’s weird that I read so much but I don’t care.  I just love reading!”
