of Honor Award Recognition
Good morning!
Creating and sustaining improvement is the result of dedicated focus from every member of an education team. I am thrilled to share some exciting news that demonstrates your team’s commitment to high expectations and its drive to enhance the teaching and learning experience. It’s time to celebrate the work by everyone in your school!
The Ohio
Department of Education has named your school a 2018 High Progress
School of Honor based on your school’s 2017-2018 Ohio School Report Card.
Ohio’s strategic plan for education, Each Child, Our Future, is the state’s plan to ensure each student is challenged, prepared and empowered for his or her future by way of an excellent prekindergarten through grade 12 education. Our mission is to prepare students for a future that has yet to be written. Many consider this to be a daunting endeavor. Your education team, however, has clearly embraced this challenge.
As a Title
I-eligible school serving 40 percent or more economically disadvantaged
students, your school achieved performance gains in English language arts and
math in the 90th percentile statewide over the last five years
among all students. It also achieved graduation gains in the 90th percentile
statewide over the last five years.
I extend my gratitude for the passion your education team members bring to their roles each day. At the heart of every child’s story is a caring educator who holds the profound belief that success belongs to all students. This award reflects your school’s commitment to ensuring all kids are ready for their futures.
In the coming weeks, you’ll receive an official School of Honor banner to display in your school building. If you have questions about the banner or the award, please contact Shelby Edwards in our Center for Performance and Impact at (614) 466-3107 or by email to [email protected]. Attached is a .jpg of the award logo that you are
welcome to use to promote your good work. The complete list of awardees can be
found online: http://education.ohio.gov/Topics/District-and-School-Continuous-Improvement/Awards-and-Recognition/Schools-of-Honor.
Thanks for everything you do for your school’s students and their families.
Sincerely,
Paolo
