Students at Norwalk High School who successfully complete the school’s Driver Education program are now leaving with more than just confidence behind the wheel—they’re also receiving practical tools to help keep them safe on the road.
Each student who completes the program is awarded a starter vehicle safety tool kit that includes jumper cables, deicer, an ice scraper, and a coupon for a free vehicle inspection, along with a discount on auto parts from the Norwalk NAPA Auto Parts dealer. The tool kits are presented to students upon completion of their required coursework and eight hours of instructor-led driving.
The school would like to extend a special thank you to Tom Scanlon of NAPA Auto Parts, along with the Norwalk Auto Care Group, whose collective support made the donations possible. The Norwalk Auto Care Group includes B&N Automotive, Jake's Auto Care, Tom's Auto, and NAPA Auto Parts. Their generosity ensures that every student who successfully completes the program this year will receive a tool kit along with their certificate of completion.
Norwalk High School expects to train approximately 85 student drivers during the current school year, making the Driver Education program an increasingly important resource for students and families, and our community. The program not only teaches safe driving habits but also emphasizes responsibility, preparedness, and community partnership.
“This is another great example of how our community comes together to support our students,” said Patrick Kania, principal of Norwalk High School. Mr. Kania also expressed his appreciation for all local businesses that contribute to Norwalk High School’s success and invest in the future of its students.
