May kicked off with a celebration of Principal’s Day—and the appreciation didn’t stop there! Throughout the month, we recognized the incredible people who make our school so special, including our Lunch Heroes, School Nurse, Teachers, and Speech & Language Pathologist. Student Council had the joy of delivering thank-yous and spreading appreciation to the amazing staff who have supported us all year long.

One of the month’s highlights was a meaningful visit to the Ronald McDonald House. After collecting pop tabs all year, we donated them and volunteered to clean and sanitize the facility. It was a powerful experience of giving back. Reaching our goal of seven full jugs, Student Council showed their appreciation by passing out ice cream sandwiches to students and staff during lunch.

The office also extended a special thank-you to Student Council members Lola Schlotterer, Amanda Romell, and to Ryleigh Scheid for taking over morning announcements. Their upbeat songs and jokes helped start everyone’s day on a positive note!

Since March, we’ve been working hard with alternative art teacher Ms. Lawrence to bring our jungle-themed vision to life for the Beyond the Vines 8th Grade Formal. The decorations were a true labor of love, and seeing the event come together was something we’ll never forget.

To top it all off, Student Council helped bring back Trucker Battles! From setting up volleyball nets to running music for the talent show and participating with enthusiasm all day long, this incredible group of student leaders went above and beyond.

While we're excited for summer, we’re also sad to say goodbye to 12 phenomenal 8th grade representatives. Each of them has left a unique and lasting mark on Norwalk Middle School. We are so grateful for their creativity, kindness, leadership, and heart.

Thank you to:

Jett Scheid, Gavin Copsey, Becca Farmer, Nora Whaley, Emeila Bravo, Olive Leavitt, Addy Sholes, Olivia Raymond, Ivy Ringenberg, Macari O'Neil, Amanda Romell, and Lola Schlotter.

You will be missed—but we know you're off to do great things!

And a big thank-you to our 7th grade Student Council members who brought energy and commitment:

Lillian Kipp, Isaiah Lassen, Mazylynn McNutt, Avery Resor, Kamille Ruiz, and Jeramy Yarborough.
