Middle Schoolers and Special effects Photo Project

The students in Mrs. Montague’s room have been putting so much effort into creating their own winter stories! Today, we celebrated their hard work with a readers’ theater, and they did such a great job!

Mrs. Roberts’ math students at Norwalk High School took on a festive hands-on engineering challenge this week: designing and building gingerbread houses! Behind the candy and creativity was meaningful work. Students practiced measurement, geometry, budgeting, planning, and structural reasoning — all essential real-world math skills. They sketched blueprints, calculated pieces, problem-solved in teams, and adjusted their designs as they built. This activity also strengthened important life skills: collaboration, patience, following multi-step directions, and seeing a project through from start to finish. The pride and ownership they showed in their finished houses made the learning even sweeter. 💙 When students learn by doing, the results are as strong as the houses they build.
