5th grade Academic Challenge team earns first place at today’s Huron County match! They move on to the championship match at BGSU Firelands in December! Congratulations!

Last week, our League Street staff showed off their creativity during Underground Teacher Spirit Week! 🎉 From “Unlikely Professions” on Monday to “Zoom Day” Friday, each theme brought plenty of laughs and camaraderie — including all-black Tuesday, student look-alike Wednesday, and our favorite tacky tourists on Thursday! Great work to our amazing staff for bringing the fun, teamwork, and underground energy all week long!

In honor of Veterans Day League Street school has created a Wall of Honor for our students whose family members are serving or have served in the armed forces. We are also doing a service project and collecting donations for the Sandusky Veterans home. They are in need of full size personal hygiene items like lotion, after shave, body wash, mouthwash, ladies hygiene items, cologne or perfume. They could also use new men's and women's clothing sizes L - 5X in shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, jackets, pajama pants or hoodies. Please feel free to send more photos or items for donations to League Street School. Thank You!!

“October was a busy month for 6th grade. They had Red Ribbon week with an assembly I was a part of and tons of red tickets for being so positive. That means I also get some special times with students. We played fetch, tic-tac-toe, walked through the halls, and got my beautiful face on some pictures for students to take home. We have started November out doing great things and I see a lot of smiling faces too with students and staff. That really makes my day. I sure am glad to be a part of Norwalk!” ~ Kepler, School Facility Dog

The 6th grade students at League have been doing great with being respectful, responsible, safe and being a great leader. One played fetch with me, another got their picture with me, and another got to have my very first Trading Card. I do think it is pretty fabulous to be able to do all of this with amazing students and I look forward to more fun! Work hard, be responsible and respectful. Stay safe and be a leader! ~ Kepler, School Facility Dog

As 4th graders end their year, Kepler tickets are still being earned for being prepared, polite, and positive. Kepler certainly enjoys his job and loves this time to shine with the students. Stay tuned for surprise tickets being pulled our final week of school this year! ~ Signed, Kepler 🐾

Kepler sure does enjoy walking through classrooms creating a calming environment while students continue to be focused on learning. Mrs. Cring's class enjoyed this time with Kepler while reading.

Mrs. Englehart's final lesson with some of the 4th graders was in celebration of everything they learned with her this year. They celebrated this achievement by showing great teamwork through making cloud dough together as a class. Each student received their own cloud dough as a reminder to look for the positive, how kindness helps each person, laughter helps our mood, and different coping skills we may need to use through life.
League Elementary Students are honoring Military Families next week. We will be having a Patriotic Spirit Week starting April 22nd. Please dress accordingly if you can!!

League students studied and participated in a school wide spelling bee. The top 3 students out of the entire school will participate in the Huron County Spelling Bee May 7th @ 6:30 pm. We are so proud of Audrey Borsick 1st place, Andrew Upton 2nd place, and Caleb Thurston 3rd place. All of the students did an amazing job and we are so proud of all who competed!!

League Students found eggs all week that had orange tickets in them. They put their names on the ticket and turned it in for a prize. There were over 17 different prizes for students.

Fourth graders have been earning tickets for Kepler. While students are being prepared, positive, and polite, Kepler also gets to practice his skills of dog puzzles, photo poses and golden leash walks through the building!
