The Norwalk City School District was recognized last night by the Ohio School Board Association for our dedication to the military and their families. Norwalk High School, Norwalk Middle School, Main St., League, Pleasant, and Maplehurst were among 115 schools in the state of Ohio fin 2025 to earn the recognition/designation of being a Purple Star School. To be designated as a Purple Star School, each school must show a major commitment to students and families connected to our nation's military.

Mrs. Steinwart’s class are the leaders this week at Maplehurst Elementary. Tuesday, Violet Reed, Rain Thurman and Brandon Collins assisted the high school TLC students with collecting recycling. On Wednesday, Harper Butcher and Connor Vanderpool assisted Mr. Moore in doing the morning announcements. Great job by all the students.

Thank you Norwalk Eagles Club #711 for the generous donation that was used to purchase a two octave set of Suzuki tonechimes for the elementary music department. The students are very excited to learn to play the tonechimes. The third graders will use them for their music program on December 9th, 2025 at 7:00pm.

Students in Mrs. Schlotterers foods classes practiced knife skills on play-dough. Afterwards, they put their knife skills to the test by cutting fruit for fruit salsa and they also made cinnamon tortilla chips.

This week is Homecoming Spirit Week at NHS. The seniors were the overall winners of the spirit relays Moday night. The sophomores won the tug of war competition.
September has been a BUSY month at Norwalk City schools. We had our first Stay In The Game Attendance challenge! There was one winner for each building! Our Winners either received tickets to the game this past Sunday (GO BROWNS), signed game balls, or t-shirts!

Students in Mrs. Scheid’s second grade math class learned about multiplication by making arrays with paint! 🎨




This week is Homecoming Spirit Week at NHS, Juniors won the Homecoming hall decorating contest for their 80s themed decor. Sophomores took 2nd for their 50s hallway.
Kepler was all smiles at Main Street seeing 4th and 5th grade staff and students sport their favorite team jerseys for Spirit Week!










Maplehurst first grade students from Mrs. Smarr and Mrs. Enderle’s class are the leaders this week. Students are greeting their peers at the doors this week, doing the announcements and today they collected recycling with the high school TLC students.






Believe 3:16 participated in See You at The Pole this morning. See You at the Pole is a national day of student-led prayer at school. The students were joined by a few staff members and community members, where they prayed for our school and community.
