Ms. Beers and Mrs. Roberts welcomed over 50 students for our first Key Club Meeting of the year. Students enjoyed breakfast provided by Mr. Kraft while learning about Key Club and the various opportunities for community outreach. We are so excited to see our club expanding!

The 4th grade music classes have been having a great time learning skills and playing new instruments!

The high school theatre classes took a trip to see a production of “Our Town” at the Allen Theatre in Cleveland on September 17.

The 6th grade students at League have been doing great with being respectful, responsible, safe and being a great leader. One played fetch with me, another got their picture with me, and another got to have my very first Trading Card. I do think it is pretty fabulous to be able to do all of this with amazing students and I look forward to more fun! Work hard, be responsible and respectful. Stay safe and be a leader! ~ Kepler, School Facility Dog

Who has more fun than preschool staff members Kathy Frederick and Karolyn Reer!

Maplehurst Elementary started a recycling program a few years ago. Each week a different classroom has student leaders who help with recycling, announcements and greeting at the door. On Tuesdays, the students collect recycling from each classroom with the help of high school students who are part of the TLC program. We are thrilled to have this partnership with the high school and appreciate the students assisting us with this program. This week we collected 16 bags of recycling! Thank you to the TLC students and the three boys from Mrs. Barb Andrew's class who worked together to load the bags.

Norwalk City Schools will be operating on a 2 hour delay today, Wednesday September 17th due to fog.
NOTICE - BUS # 3 Elementary run will be about 30-40 minutes behind this afternoon.

Today in Mrs. Kaple's Honors Geometry the students played UNO to get ready for Geometric Proofs. UNO is used to introduce proofs because it leverages a familiar game to teach abstract concepts by modeling them as a step-by-step puzzle with clear rules. Students can connect to the concept of a proof through the act of playing UNO cards to get from a "given" card to a "prove" card. The rules of UNO serve as the "postulates" or "reasons" for each step (card) in the sequence, helping students understand deductive reasoning and the logical justification required for a formal proof in a hands-on, engaging way.

Students in Mrs. Valentine’s science classes practiced using inquiry skills during a hands-on group activity. The skills they practiced were: observing, communicating, classifying, ordering, and comparing. They worked together to become super scientists!

The 5th Grade Blue Scientists practiced their inquiry skills in science class. They explored like real scientists by observing objects closely, classifying them into groups, ordering them by different properties, and comparing the objects to notice similarities and differences.
