
Norwalk Firefighters Ryan Houghtlen and Chris Dowdell spent the day with Health students at Norwalk High School Friday. After a review of CPR, AED, and the Heimlich Maneuver, students were able to get hands on practice with the life saving techniques. This is part of a 2 week long First Aid unit the classes have been working on.

The Annual Maplehurst Art Show will be held on Monday, April 20 from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM in the gymnasium! K-1 Students’ artwork will be on display for families to view. Students may take their 3-dimensional projects (on tables in gymnasium) and their portfolios (on desks in their classrooms) home with them at that time. Artwork that is hanging will be sent home at a later date. We hope to see you there!

Main Street Staff had an underground spirit week leading up to spring break. We had so much fun! Hearing the students try and guess what was going on and what they were. It was a perfect way to kick off spring break!





Mrs. Molnar's Advanced Quantitative Reasoning classes built a putt-putt course this week. They used the reflexive angles rules to mark the bank shots needed for a hole-in-one. Students had fun playing the course while using math concepts in real life.

Norwalk High Schools Industrial Education 2 Scroll saw segmentation projects completed and displayed today......doesn't it make you think of spring break??

Students from the 4th Grade White team were recognized for their 3rd Quarter achievements: Perfect Attendance, A & B Honor Roll, and All A Honor Roll. Great job students!



Norwalk High School students Abbey Gearheart and Ethan Bogard made these amazing charcuterie boards in Advanced Woodworking class.


Proof that reading pays off….in ice cream! 7th graders in ELA classes that met their Accelerated Reading goals for the 3rd quarter were rewarded with ice cream.



Main Street School recently participated in "Coin Wars" to raise money for the Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital. As a school we raised $804.66. This was done with the high school to go along with their Dance Marathon. Mr. Caponi's class was the winning homeroom and enjoyed donuts and extra recess!

The 5th grade Blue Squad students celebrated the end of the third quarter with an exciting bowling outing, where a great time was had by everyone!




Last week, Deputy Josh Young and his K9, Esco, visited 1st grade classrooms at Maplehurst Elementary after students learned about people working with animals in their reading curriculum. The students loved learning all about Esco’s training and his duties!



Love movies? Love movie soundtracks? The Norwalk High School Orchestras are excited to present a night of MOVIE MUSIC!!! Admission is free and all are welcome. 5th grade students and their parents are especially encouraged to attend. Check the flyer for details and see you there!!!

The Norwalk City School Board approved the 2026-2027 Calendar at their meeting last night.

Maplehurst Staff and students want to send a big thank you to all who came to read this week, your time with us was appreciated.







Mrs. Steinwart's class has had a great Right to Read Week. We have had amazing guest readers, went on a virtual field trip to the Toledo Zoo, read under our desks with flashlights, and went to the book fair to get some new books.
