Substitute Positions

Norwalk City School Districts hires substitutes on an as-needed basis to fill in for the following positions throughout the year:

Certified Position: ($105 per full day) (see additional info here about substitute teaching)
Teachers

House Bill 583 permits school districts to employ an individual who does not possess a bachelor's degree by permitting such individual to obtain a substitute teacher license, for one school year at a time, under certain conditions until June 30, 2024.  

Our local resolution for NCSD was approved on September 20, 2022. Background checks and licensure through the Ohio Dept. of Education are still required.

To begin the process of substitute teaching in the Norwalk City School District complete a substitute teacher application

Classified Positions: ($12.60/hour)
Educational Assistants (building, library, special needs, transportation)
Food Service 
Cleaning/Custodians/Maintenance
Secretaries

Bus Drivers (15.25 per hour for athletic/academic trips/$17.75 per hour for routes)
