On October 28, 2021, Governor DeWine signed into law Ohio Senate Bill 1 (S.B. 1) as emergency legislation.  It provides that the Board may employ a person who does NOT hold a post-secondary degree as a substitute teacher for the remainder of the 2021-22 school year provided that they meet specific requirements.

Our local resolution for NCSD was approved on November 16, 2021; it states that we can hire high school graduates who are at least 21 years of age. Background checks and licensure through the Ohio Dept. of Education are still required.
